Finding Direction in Life


During a business meeting one member claimed she had a strong prompting that we should give money to a particular cause.  Did that mean we should do it?  Not necessarily!  But if the prompting was genuine, then the Lord would speak to all of us.  So we prayed for God to speak to us as to how He wanted us to address this need, if at all.  ...  And then we listened quietly.
After a moment of listening, we all felt the go ahead to give the money for the mentioned cause.  Then one person said, “I sense that we should really give a particular amount” (which was much larger than that in the original presentation).  To the joyful surprise of us all, each one of us stated one by one that we had heard the same amount from the Lord.
At the beginning of the prayer time, we had no idea what would happen.  Within 5 minutes we all knew what we should do, because God had spoken to each of us.
That by itself was joy to the fullest.  When the check was delivered to the appropriate people, they looked at each other and said, “Our difficulties have lasted several months, but just last night we talked about how we had a need for additional money.”
